Amazing Savings!
So, recently, I started tryi9ng to get into the whole savings via coupons and deals thing. I tried it before, but it seemed like the savings that some people got eluded me. I just couldn’t seem to make it work.
I just jumped in with two feet. And look what I just did (although I am still sure that others could have done better, considering I “only” saved 64%….. those people that regularly save 75% flabbergast me).

All of this …. (wait for it) for $42.56! A savings of $75.22.
I am sure between this, and what I already have, I can make this work for the next week and then some.
Honestly, I really did not think that I was going to be able to pull this off. I keep on reading the receipt *positive* that there has been some mistake (and there might be with the meat deal at Acme…… it seems like that deal is more confusing than it should be) but I simply can’t find it or figure out what could be wrong.
So, I will list it for you.
Meat
16 Pakc Ballpark Beef Franks
8 Pack Philly Homestyle Beef Patties
Perdue Chicken Nuggets
1.98 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breast
1.98 lbs Ground Beef
1.99 lbs pork shoulder
1 package of Italian Sausage (no lbs listed, but looks enough for two meals for the family)
1.63 lbs of pork spare ribs
Produce
3 containers (5.6 oz) of blackberries (BOG 2 Free!)
8 kiwis (0.25 each with coupon!)
Frozen Vegetables (0.25 each with coupons!)
3 (9 oz) packs of broccoli florets
2 (9 oz) packs of green beans
2 (9 oz) packs of ct corn
1 (9 oz) pack of spinach
Deli
1 lb of American Cheese
Bread
1 Package of Potato hamburger rolls
Other Grocery Items
4 packages of Knorr Pasta Sides and Rice Dinner sides (on sale and used double coupon)
4 packages of Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix (0.25 each with coupon)
1 48 oz jar of Cinnamon Applesauce
4 (8 oz ) bottles of Pfeiffer Salad Dressings (0.25 each with coupon)
Dairy
1 Dozen Eggs
I LOVE this. Not only did I do this with fantastic savings, but I was also able to do it getting fresh fruits and healthy vegetables.
I wish that I was able to go all organic for that stuff, but baby steps I guess. I am growing my own organic garden this year, so I will hopefully be able to do that for the whole summer and have stuff left over to can.
On top of this, a trip to CVS today got me a Jumbo pack of Pampers, a Jumbo pack of wipe refills, and an Intuition Razor with 4 refills for $5.68 OOP, and got back $4 in ECB’s. Therefore, all that for $1.68.
Now, I must say, I am not starting a savings website. I simply don’t have the stomach or patience for it. And no matter how much I enjoy reading the scenarios (and I do…. those that run those websites are my saviors), it really isn’t in my personality to write about it. I simply did it this time so that you would know that if I can do it, TRUST ME, you can do it. Getting back to the basics and simplicity is what it is all about (and that is much more like me.)
Hopefully I will be able to keep this up and we will be on our way to being debt free! That will be a glorious day!
Share! How much have you been able to save?

I am so jealous! I can never manage to get those savings with coupons, and at times end up spending *more* when I use coupons! It’s frustrating! I might try again next month, because saving that much would rock!

20 cents here and 50 cents there is the most I’ve managed. You’re totally hired.
