Boys are Tough
The wise guy. Oh, god, the wise guy. He is precious, but boy is he tough…. in more ways than one. He is a boy of constant motion, of constant action. He is loving beyond words….. and then he kicks you right in the boobs to lay you flat on your back. I know that wise guy understand rules and understand consequences of which there are many and relatively consistent about it, but he ignores that you are even talking to him, and goes about his hyperactive behavior.
I fear medication may be the ultimate solution.
In any case, he is extremely coordinated. He shocks me often, considering neither his father nor I can walk a straight line without tripping. His new move? Jumping into the air and kicking his foot out as if he is performing a diving kick for a soccer goal. I have swung up my hand for him to hit it with his foot, and he kicks it each time, even while my hand is moving.
And then there are the days where he plays superhero.
Yesterday. Wise Guy. Naked. Standing on the back of the couch. Hands on hips. “I am SPIDERMAN!” Dives head first off the back of the sectional directly into a sommersault.
OK, Spiderman.
The boy is nuts.
Please help me. Someone needs to make sure that health care gets fixed in this country, because, damn I am going to need me some good coverage.

medication can only make it worse in many ways… you often only have to go through many meds to see which ones work and which ones do and its complete torture for a young kid.. we went through this with my little brother … and with my twin brother…who shot himself to death when he and i were 14

Thanks Jeff. The Wise Guy is only 2, so we are no where near medication. He is being a 2 year old, but since there is a long family history, I am getting concerned. The same goes for the ninja move he pulled on me. It wasn’t out of malice, he just didn’t understand at the time (that was about a half year ago.) Thank you for your suggestions though. Keep them coming. I think I could use all the help we can get.

oh im taylor900 on twitter… forgot to tell you that.. you can ask me any questions you want to .. ps: maybe karate isnt for your son yet… or he needs a new master.. one that would NEVER let him get away with treating you like he did .. depends on your sons age .. we were lucky .. we had the water … swimming lessons might be the best thing for him right now… he would use a lot of energy and the water would sooth him … if he were my son i would put him in swim classes immediately… see my dad had us all in swim and then of course in surfing as soon as we could …

I have two like that. The first one, I upped my homeowner’s insurance, because I was absolutely certain he was going to practice his terrorist plans on us.
Now he sits behind a computer all day.
The other one will not sit still even for school with out his medication. And you can tell if he hasn’t taken it.
Better living through chemistry.
