In the blink of an eye, you turned six. In the blink of an eye, you are able to discuss the nuances of problems and solutions in fiction. You are able to read, to reason, to find the subtle humor of my dry jokes.

In the blink of an eye, you have become sensitive, upset when something doesn’t quite go your way or if someone is bothering you.
In the blink of an eye, you have become a girl.
You have started to read on your own. You ROCK math. You love detectives. You want to be an astronaut. You want mommy to be the capsule communicator.
This year, you joined girl scouts. You are shy. but you are quick to make friends. You love to teach your friends EVERYTHING you know.
You and I don’t always see agree (my GOD you try to negotiate EVERYTHING), but I love you intensely. Your smile, your laugh are so genuinely joyful, they bring tears to my eyes.
Sweetie, you are the real deal. You got the perfect mix of compassion and staunch opinion, of intellect and of plain silliness. You are going to go far. I can see that.
