New Year, New Opportunities
So….. while I haven’t been blogging for the last two weeks…… health care passed the Senate, crazy people have set their underwear on fire, gay marriage has been turned down in yet another state. Also, my family has enjoyed a magical holiday filled with love, joy, and fun. We traveled to and from NC. My SIL and BIL found out they are expecting twin boys which inspired them to put their house on the market AND accepted an offer within a week of it being on the market. We laughed, loved and grew addicted to Rock Band (a wonderful family gift).
In addition, I got a job! A writing/instructional design job! One that seems like it was completely tailored for me! It is challenging, and imaginative, and fun and puts my love of science and teaching and writing and creating to great use. And they PAY me for it (or will pay me for it)! It is only a contract position, one that will be over at the end of this month, but I truly hope that it leads to more possibilities as I am enjoying myself.
New opportunities. This is what I am looking forward to this year. Last year can bite me…. too much pain and heartbreak for dear friends, too many lost opportunities, to much controversy and schisms. This year…. this year……
This year I will take one day at a time. Honor each day. Live each day. As the Buddhists say (besides a big FU to Brit Hume), I will practice mindfulness. I will not take one single day for granted.
This year I will jump and play and be a healthier version of myself in mind and body.
This year I will make my own opportunities. I will make things happen. I will realize that I am good enough and jump in with two feet.
This year I will support my community.
This year I will write my bucket list (as I am enough of a procrastinator to not only put off what would be on a bucket list, but to even WRITE one in the first place), and I will start crossing things off line by line.
This year, I will write a kick ass bio.
This year, I will live up to that kick ass bio.
What are you doing this year?
It awaits……

This year I will be positive. This will naturally take care of the rest of the very extensive list. You gotta love this.

This year my wife will continue to hate me for my being critical of her watching Indian drama serials that revolve round power, glamor, intrigues and incarnation.
