Weekly Winners: Glamour Toys Edition

These photos were taken as a part of my toy declutter overhaul.  I went through all the kids toys and re-organized them into their Closetmaid fabric bins.  On the outside, I taped photos of the contents of the bin.  I couldn’t just take normal snapshots, you know.  Here are a few.

Dolls

Pirate

Cars

Wall-E

In other news, I am getting discouraged with my equipment.  I really want to take my photography to the next step and start a business.  People are encouraging me to jump right in.  It is daunting to me though, especially this time of year when natural light is hard to come by.  I have a laundry list of equipment that I would love to have (don’t all photographers), but some of it would REALLY help towards taking better photos in low light without making photos look flat and/or grainy and/or with too low a depth of field (i.e the eyes look in focus but the nose or the hair are out of focus).

If only the budget allowed….. if only.  Then, finally, I could start to feel comfortable in getting out there a little and start my business to help myself.  If only…..  Somehow, I am going to make it happen.

Every time I tried a toy declutter operation, the idea was to both make room for newer, more age apprpriate items but also to make the lovingly-used items available to those who had less. The toys to be removed suddenly because favorites.

I did the toy declutter thing today too, and now I just want to buy them a whole lot more… and more toy boxes!
    Love your photos!

We’re in major declutter mode in our house too.

As for the photography goes, I learned a lot about lighting on Strobist. I also learned how to do it cheap.

Your toy shots are amazing! Funny, we did the de-clutter thing at our house last week.

As far as your photography goes, I know how you feel. I have the same thing happening to me. I keep having people ask me to take photos for them, and they all encourage me to do it for a business. I have equipment I want, too. But I’m just not sure I want to do it for money. I don’t want photography to turn into a chore. But at the same time I am flattered that people like my photography and want to hire me.

Just wanted to let you know that I can relate!
