Photo 365

I did mention that I was doing Photo 365 last week, didn’t I?  And then, I  haven’t published one photo since then, have I?

Yeah. But you know what, I am not going to be upset about it.  I did not set a resolution.  I set goals.  I failed to meet the daily goal, but today is a new day, and goals can be achieved.

It seems like I have to streamline my photography work flow a bit.  I have the photos, I just have not done anything to them to get them posted.  Like, upload them.  Or edit them (make them smaller, transfer out of the RAW format…. I do very little editing to photos…. usually).

So here is a catch-up.  These are not the best photos (haven’t been in the photo mood, oddly), but they serve as symbols for my days.   My photo 365 project will be posted under photography up top, usually with blogging associated with it.  However, today, I am simply posting photos.  And then I am going to go kick my husbands butt to design me my photography website ( for the biz).  May decide to form a separate photo 365 site too.

One thing at a time.  No more procrastinating.

Me.  Sweetie took this picture with my D70.

The camera was as big as her head, but she has got the eye.

There you go.  Now, I just have to keep up!  Me needs me some photo inspiration.  Got to get out of this funk.

One trick I use to get out of a photographic funk is to shoot with just one lens for a while – the wackier the better. I get more photos on an outing with just the 12-24 than I do with a bag full of lenses. Less switching, more shooting. When you work within limitations, it’s surprisingly liberating.

I stand corrected, as I have watched her 5 year old excitement with my camera and your camera…I think she would really have fun with one of her own. I know a year ago I was all but aghast when you suggested that you were thinking about getting her one. I wish she had a summer birthday!
and I love the box full of bottoms!!!

That’s a great picture! She did good.

When I first started She Lives, the photo I used for my sidebar was one my son took of me in bluebonnets. I kept it there for the first 2 years. It was a great photo. He was about 5 when it took it.

Maybe they just have this whole beginners luck thing going on?

Grammy – we actually were talking about establishing a single Birthday in the summer for all of us (sort of a second Christmas) since most of the birthdays are in the fall and winter and get dwarfed by the holiday season. But we haven’t cemented anything on that front.
As for the camera, we DID get her a cheap $10 one at OfficeMax the other day. But it is worth about as much as we paid for it (maybe slightly less).

BB has been loving when I let him take one picture (of me) with the camera everyday. I’m totally going to need to buy him his own by summer. He’s really quite good.
