What’s DNA?! Where do kids come up with these things?

I didn’t take notes but I did take counts. 104 questions from my 3 year old daughter during our 20 minute ride to daycare. 62 on the 12 minute ride home. She’s averaging about 5 per minute ranging from the relatively simple to answer “Mommy, why that birdie built its nest up on that tower” to the much more complicated “if my body wasn’t made in a factory in China and my body was made in your body, how did my body get out of your body?” question I’m trying to figure out how to answer so it makes sense to a preschooler’s mind.
She had been asking enough lately that I had to buy one of those little hand held counters just so I could know for sure and have the proof to back it up when people see the glazed look in my eyes and ask “what, tired from a few questions from a preschooler? how hard can that be?”

Wow, Heather, that is a complex question for a three year old. I mean even the structure of the question itself….. Wow. You got a thinker on your hands!
